Search Engine Optimization Strategies: 6 Easy Ways to Rank Your Content Higher

Search engine optimization strategies are always a hot topic. Many people will give advice, but few actually understand how to rank higher on the search engine results. Below are a few easy ways to rank your content higher.
1) In my opinion, keyword research is most critical element of search engine optimization (seo). A great tool I use to determine this is Google Adwords Keyword Tool. I use this tool to look for keywords that have high cost per click and a lower monthly global volume. If there is a keyword that is getting around 2,000 searches per month and advertisers are willing to pay $20 per click to advertise their content on Google, then you have found a hot keyword. You can then build content on that keyword that can rank high on the organic search engine results. Organic search results are the free results that you are looking for.
Don’t you feel like we are cheating the system? Amazingly we are not. With using proper search engine optimization strategies you can rank higher than someone paying $20 for each click for free.
2) Make sure your titles contain the keywords that you are using. If your keyword is something like “odor free shampoo for dogs” and if your title is “great shampoo for dogs” you might miss out on being found by the search engines. You may consider changing the title to exactly or closely matching the keywords. For example you could create a title called “The best odor free shampoo for dogs”.
3) The meta description tags are also important to search engine optimization. The keywords that you have selected must be included in the meta description. An example of this is below.

The meta description tags are listed below and the keywords are displayed in bold. Always remember to include your keywords in the meta description.
4) Include your keywords in the text of your site. A good rule is to include your keywords at least 2 or 3 times in your article. Also don’t over do it. Sites such as Ezinearticles allow you to include your keywords no more than every 100 words. More importantly, search engines will penalize you for over doing it.
5) Anchor text in your content will help your rankings with the search engines. A strategy I use is to create anchor text that is the same as your keyword and link it to another site. When linking to other sites, make sure you link only to relevant content. Additionally, linking to popular content will help you rank higher as well with the search engines.
6) Images usage is one of the most under utilized methods that helps your content rank higher on the search engines. When adding images to your content, make sure to name the image exactly the same as your keyword. By naming your images the same as your keywords, your content will be found more often by users searching for images. These images search count as another “hit” to your content and therefore a higher ranking with the search engines.
There is no magical formula that automatically gets your content to the top of the search engines. However, follow these simple 6 steps and you are well on your way to ranking high on the search engines.
